Victoria Park
Located where the old Causeway Bay typhoon shelter once stood, this sprawling 19-hectare urban park – Hong Kong Island’s largest – opened in 1957, named after the Queen Victoria Statue which you can find at the heart of the premises. During major holidays like Chinese New Year, you’ll find thriving flower displays and market stalls selling everything from fresh blooms and decorations to delicious street eats. But on any other day, it’s a prime, verdant spot for a picnic, a run around the jogging trail, an indoor swim at the public Olympic-length swimming pool, and more – there’s even a pool to take your miniature model boats for a spin.
